Flash #29 preview is up – with new cover art!

Flash #29

Hero Complex has a preview of Flash #29 by Brian Buccellato, with Agustin Padilla taking over for Patrick Zircher, due in stores next week. In the conclusion of this three-part murder mystery, Flash and Deadman team up to find the supernatural Keystone Killer before he strikes again. It’s a mystery that may — or may not — answer the question of who really killed Barry Allen’s mother in the post-Flashpoint timeline.

This story and Forever Evil: Rogues Rebellion (also finishing next week) have been kind of a bonus round for the Francis Manapul/Brian Buccellato run on the character, as Manapul left after #25 to gear up for the duo to take over Detective Comics

Oh yeah, and there’s that Robot Chicken variant cover. They went with the Flashdance reference. Continue reading

Flash #28 Preview is Up!

The Flash #28 arrives in stores this Wednesday, and DC Comics has a preview of the issue up on their site.

The Flash and Deadman team up to stop the Keystone Killer! How far back do the killings go, and is his target the key? What or who are the “Fletchers”? Find out in THE FLASH #28, written by Brian Buccellato and illustrated by Patrick Zircher, available in stores this Wednesday.

I think it’s clear who the original Fletcher was, but the question seems to be who the killer thinks are Fletchers.

Flash #27 Preview and Scribblenauts Variant Cover

Nerdist has a preview of The Flash #27, the first of a three-part story by writer Brian Buccellato and artist Patrick Zircher. Pasqual Ferry provides the cover for the issue, due in stores next week.

Flash #27 Cover

The summary has the Flash facing “a mystical serial killer who might be responsible for his mother’s murder,” but the preview focuses on a jewelry heist by Chroma (an updated Rainbow Raider) and Tar Pit.

(For those wondering about the presence of one of the villains, remember that everything up through #29 takes place before Forever Evil.)

Also included in the preview is the Scribblenauts variant cover, a riff on the classic Showcase #4 — the first appearance of Barry Allen.

Preview is up for Flash #26 (next week)

Flash #26

Flash #26 comes out next week, but you can see a preview of the issue at DC Comics’ blog.

Barry Allen is hot on the tail of Spitfire after investigating the death of his mentor, Dr. Carlson. But to catch the villain responsible, The Flash must figure out how to use his powers in the one place where they do him little good: the sky! Spitfire is sure to escape unless The Flash can go airborne! A special standalone issue, THE FLASH #26, written by Christos N. Gage and illustrated by Neil Googe, will be available in stores on December 31.

This is a done-in-one story. #27-29 will be a three-parter guest starring Deadman, by Brian Buccellato and Patrick Zircher. The new post-Forever Evil creative team hasn’t been announced yet.
