Wally takes center stage in Titans: Rebirth #1 Preview

Titans Rebirth 1DC has a preview for Titans: Rebirth #1, out this week.

In this one-shot issue, direct from the events of the DC UNIVERSE: REBIRTH #1, Wally West has returned from the Speed Force and will try to reunite with his former team: The Titans! Now years later, Donna Troy, Arsenal, Garth, Lilith and Nightwing know that their memories had been altered, but are still unaware of the friend and teammate they’ve long forgotten.

When Wally shows up in their apartment, the Titans attack! He’ll have to find a way to stop his friends, while proving that he is the “missing Titan”. Find out more from writer Dan Abnett and artists Brett Booth (pencils), Norm Rapmund (inks), Andrew Dalhouse (colors) and Carlos M. Mangual (letters) in this week’s one-shot TITANS: REBIRTH #1!

Joshua Williamson Gets It Right! – FLASH REBIRTH #1 (review)

5242387-flsreb_cv1_dsI was already a Joshua Williamson fan from his work on books like GHOSTED and NAILBITER, and I have been looking forward to his first work on my favorite speedster. Turns out, Williamson is a fan of the Flash…and it shows in his work on this first issue. FLASH REBIRTH is a great jumping on point for Barry…and Wally, and it hits a whole list of great points that we will discuss….after the jump!

TV Flash vs TV Flash in the Xum 52

Flash TV JWS Xum

This week’s The Line it is Drawn is all about TV superheroes meeting. The entry by Xum Yukinori features a Flash (1990)/Flash (2014) mashup with the John Wesley Shipp incarnations of Barry Allen and Jay Garrick in an homage to the classic Infantino/Anderson cover for Flash #137, “Vengeance of the Immortal Villain.”

Flash Movie Gets New Director

Deadline reports that Rick Famuyiwa has been chosen to direct the 2018 Flash movie. Recently known for directing (and writing) the Sundance film Dope, he takes over from former director Seth Grahame-Smith, who also wrote the film’s script. The movie stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen, and will tie in with the other Justice League-related films.

What do you think of the new choice of director? Anyone seen Dope or any of Famuyiwa’s other films?

No word on a Netflix release yet. A few months ago there was talk that this season of the CW might not make it to Netflix due to the expiration of their contract and Time Warner’s intent to create their own subscription service, but I haven’t found any updates on that front. (The show is already available on pay-per-episode/season services like Amazon Video, iTunes and Google Play.)

Are you planning to buy the discs, or have you moved on from physical media to digital download/streaming?
