Unless you’ve been living underground for the last six months or so you have to be aware that SDCC 2012 officially began today and while there isn’t a ton of Flashy news on the collectibles front, one awesome thing stands out!
Wally West will finally be released as a Mattel Action Figure:

Mimoco released this video clip/ad yesterday featuring a race between the Superman and Flash…flash drives.
Action Figure Insider and The Fwoosh have posted extensive photos and reviews of the upcoming Signature Collection Mirror Master figure, and it looks great. He’s actually been slightly retooled and improved due to fan input since the figure debuted at Toy Fair in February, which makes a good figure even better.
The figure is in the same line as the Jay Garrick figure which became available last month and seems to be well-received, so I’m definitely looking forward to it.
Mirror Master is due out in mid-August. You’ll automatically receive it if you have a subscription to Club Infinite Earths, but everyone else will have to order it from Mattel’s site.
It’s been several years since Mimoco bought the license to produce DC character-themed USB thumb drives. Of course they started with the usual suspects: Batman and related characters. Green Lantern got a push when the movie came out. You’d think that a Flash-themed flash drive would be an obvious choice, but I suppose they were playing it safe.
Well, the wait is finally over: You can now buy a Flash Mimobot drive with 8GB, 16GB, 32GB or 64GB capacity.

About a month ago DC Entertainment (formerly known as DC Comics) announced that they would they be rechristening their collectible products line, previously known as DC Direct, with a new brand dubbed DC Collectibles. Not only that but they pledged to make it easier for those without a Local Comic Shop (like I) to purchase their entire products line via their own e-commerce online shop known as ShopDCEntertainment.com. The site is finally live!

Just a friendly reminder for those anxiously awaiting the release of Mattel’s DC Signature Collection Golden Age Flash, Jay Garrick, the figure goes on sale on Mattycollector.com this Tuesday, May 15, 2012. Of course those that signed up for the subscription (not I) will be getting theirs shipped out automatically. Although earlier this month Mattel posted on Matty’s news page that due to “logistics issues” the shipments of the figure won’t be arriving at the docks until pretty much the day of the sale. Due to that they’ve told customers to allow 5 to 7 additional days for orders containing the figure to arrive. Naturally the customers who subscribed to Club Infinite Earths 2012 will receive their orders first. The figure will set the rest of us back $18.99 usd plus shipping.
