TWO Flash References on TV This Week!

Absolute Justice, the Geoff Johns-penned two-hour Smallville episode featuring the Justice Society of America, airs this Friday at 8:00 PM on the CW. The Flash doesn’t appear himself, but we’ve seen screencaps with Jay Garrick’s helmet and a painting featuring the classic JSA.

But Smallville isn’t the only show that references the Flash this week. Canadian viewers have already seen this week’s episode of Human Target, “Sanctuary.” @hastily spotted a character trying to explain what the Anti-Monitor did to Barry Allen in Crisis on Infinite Earths. The episode airs in the US on Wednesday at 8:00 PM on Fox.

HeroClix Flash Duo

Check this out!

WizK!ds has posted a “News Flash”…about a certain Scarlet Speedster. Or rather, a certain pair of Scarlet Speedsters.

Yes, the upcoming The Brave and The Bold expansion for DC HeroClix will include a Two Flashes figure featuring the team of Barry Allen and Wally West!

The link has a full write-up of the figure’s powers, a side view, and scans of the card and dial.

I’m guessing this piece has been in the works for a while now, since it looks like they have Wally’s previous costume. It’s hard to tell in the photos they’ve posted, but it looks like both masks have open eyes.

Thanks to @LegionOmnicom for the link!

DC Offers Promotional Flash & GL Rings

Following up on the Blackest Night ring promotion, DC will be offering promotional Flash and Green Lantern rings in April, linked to sales of the “Brightest Day”-labeled Flash #1 and Green Lantern #53.

The Flash rings will arrive in stores the same day as The Flash #1, on April 14.

It looks like they’ve reused the same mold and plastic used for the rings they handed out at conventions in 2008 (see right). The simple change of adding some paint to the face makes them look a whole lot better!

Alas, DC “can’t promise it’ll make you any faster.” 😉

This should prove less controversial than the Blackest Night ring promotion, for two reasons: First, retailers only need to order 10 copies of the book to qualify, not 25 or 50. Second, it’s the first issue of a major relaunch of one of DC’s top 5 heroes, written by their top writer, spinning out of DC’s most successful event in years. I expect most retailers would have ordered enough copies even without the promotion, and they’re not likely to be stuck with stacks of unsold Flash books to trade in for the next Deadpool variant.

Now if they could just find a way to stick a tiny costume in there…

Flash Relics in new Smallville: Absolute Justice Preview

More Flash news from The Source: a new video preview of “Absolute Justice”, the Geoff Johns–penned Smallville episode airing February 5.

Comic Book Resources has taken some screencaps of the trailer, including two which show off the Justice Society’s resident Flash, Jay Garrick. He doesn’t appear in the episode himself, but we get several close-up views of that painting of the Justice Society spotted last month…plus there’s Clark looking at Jay’s helmet in a display case. It really is a clear view of the wing design.
