CONVERGENCE is finally here, with all the timelines ever published by DC appearing once again – and the tie-ins bring us some of our favorites from the years prior to the New 52. For a generation of comics fans, The Flash was Wally West…and in SPEED FORCE #1, Wally West is once again The Fastest Man Alive! Wally, Jai and Iris are trapped under the dome in Pre-FLASHPOINT Gotham City – and that’s where we pick up in this tie-in to CONVERGENCE!

This issue is titled, “The End of the Road”…but while the Future Flash story line IS wrapped up here we get some major developments that begin a whole new chapter in the life of Barry Allen. This is an issue you WILL want to read more than once, one of the best issues in the Venditti-Jensen-Booth era of our favorite speedster!

In an episode that has echoes of “Groundhog Day”, Barry Allen finds out the hard way that messing with the past can have serious results. If you didn’t see last week’s episode, you may want to catch that one first, as this episode makes SO much more sense that way. It would be very hard to match the intensity level of last week’s show…and unfortunately there are parts of last week’s episode that no longer apply (spoilers ahead)…but still this is an important chapter of the story, and if nothing else a little…Golden…intervention makes this another very interesting episode of our favorite super-hero show.

“Out of Time” is easily the most powerful and impressive episode of THE FLASH so far, with HUGE reveals and shocking twists almost minute-by-minute throughout the show. If you haven’t seen this week’s episode of THE FLASH, DO NOT go past the jump. The twin storylines are moving forward in significant ways in one of the stronger issues in the Venditti-Jensen-Booth era of THE FLASH.
