Kid Flash Officially Joins Legends of Tomorrow

Entertainment Weekly is reporting that Keiynan Lonsdale is joining Legends of Tomorrow as a series regular, beginning with the second half of this season. Kid Flash Wally West will join the team now that he’s left Central City. (via ComicBook.com)

Showrunners on The Flash have talked about the difficulty of writing two speedsters on a show, so with any luck this will give Wally more opportunities to shine.

Legends of Tomorrow returns February 12. It will share the Monday 8pm time slot with Supergirl, so that instead of breaking for reruns in the middle of the season, they’ll each break for the other show.

“The Elongated Knight Rises” Stills, With Some Surprises

The CW has released some official still images from next week’s episode of The Flash, which gives us some tantalizing glimpses of things we didn’t see in yesterday’s trailer. At left, there’s a much-needed costume upgrade for the Elongated Man; it may not look like the comics version of Ralph’s outfit, but it’s a lot better than what he’s had in the show thus far.

And that isn’t all. The images show that Zoey Clark, also known as Prank, will debut on the series as an associate of the second Trickster. Those who watched the 1990s Flash series will remember her as one of the first Trickster’s sidekicks, played by Corrine Bohrer. It’s not known what her relationship will be to Axel, but perhaps she’s attached to him because he’s purportedly the son of James Jesse (some fans have been theorizing that she’s Axel’s mother ever since he first appeared, which may have some merit).

So there should be a lot of interesting things next week!

Movement on the Flashpoint Movie – Spider-Man: Homecoming Writers in Negotiations to Direct

Variety reports that John Francis Daley and Jonathan Goldstein are in negotiations to direct Flashpoint. The stand-alone movie has been without a director since November 2016, when Rick Famuyiwa left the project. (via Comics Beat)

As far as super-heroes go, the pair wrote the story for Spider-Man: Homecoming. But that doesn’t tell us much about their directing style. They have directed a few films together, notably the 2015 comedy Vacation and the upcoming murder mystery Game Night – so it’s anybody’s guess what sort of tone the studio is aiming for at this point. (Presumably if they’re actually adapting the Flashpoint comic book, even loosely, they aren’t going for broad comedy.)

Flashpoint stars Ezra Miller as Barry Allen and Kiersey Clemons as Iris West, and while it’s billed as a Flash solo film, it will also feature the DCEU’s Wonder Woman and Cyborg.

“The Elongated Knight Rises” Trailer

Here’s the extended trailer for next week’s episode of The Flash, titled “The Elongated Knight Rises”. After the events of tonight’s episode, Ralph Dibny must prove himself alone in the field, while Barry deals with problems of his own.

“Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash”, And More

The CW has released the official synopsis for the January 30th episode of The Flash, titled “Honey, I Shrunk Team Flash”. The episode will introduce an unnamed metahuman villain, and somebody close to the team will temporarily gain powers themselves.

THE INCREDIBLE SHRINKING MEN — A meta who can shrink anything he touches battles Team Flash. Cisco (Carlos Valdes) and Ralph (guest star Hartley Sawyer) get caught in his crossfire and are shrunk to miniature versions of themselves. Cecile (guest star Danielle Nicolet) realizes her pregnancy has caused her to have temporary powers and discovers she can hear other people’s thoughts, which unnerves Joe (Jesse L. Martin). Meanwhile, Barry (Grant Gustin) meets someone with a mysterious connection to Henry Allen. Chris Peppe directed the episode written by Sam Chalsen & Judalina Neira (#412). Original airdate 1/30/2018

Plus, it’s been revealed that we’ll be seeing another non-Flash villain on the show later this season. This one is Hyrax, a Green Arrow foe who’s an environmental activist. There are an unusual number of non-Flash villains on the show this season.
