Flash #25 CoverThe “Zero Year” arc edition of The Flash finds a younger, pre-Flash Barry Allen on the streets of Gotham…and he isn’t the only citizen of the Gem Cities hanging around these mean streets.  Manapul and Buccellato give us one last great story before their own move to Gotham City, complete with one “beginning” we see in this issue for the first time anywhere!

SpeedForce & TMStash Interview Manapul & Buccellato On Their Move From Flash to Detective!

Flash to Detective LogosWe recently had the honor of interviewing Francis Manapul and Brian Buccellato, the acclaimed creative team behind “The Flash”, as they prepare to move from “Flash” to “Detective Comics”.   We get their thoughts on the move, along with the themes they will be taking with their run on the World’s Greatest Detective.

As for why this is on TWO sites?  I regularly contribute reviews of “Flash” related titles to SpeedForce, the premiere Flash fan site on the internet.  And, I regularly review other DC and Indie titles at TMStash, the place for Comics, Movies, TV, Gaming, Tech News and more.  This transition from “Flash” to “Detective Comics” cuts across both sites…and that means it only makes sense to publish the full review on both sites!  Now, let’s get to the Q&A!

Interview with Christos Gage – NC Comicon

During NC Comicon, we had the honor of sitting down with Christos Gage, who is writing an upcoming issue of The Flash and regularly writes Danica Williams’ character as the newest Flash in Justice League Beyond.  This is a shared interview…I also write about Valiant and other comics for another site called TMStash, and the interviews are linked to each other.  The only place you’ll find the Flash-related questions is here, though…including a hint to future stories!  If you want info about Bloodshot and H.A.R.D. Corps (and excellent Valiant book), just follow this link.  There will be a few questions at the end that show on both sites. For now, let’s go the Q&A!

Flash Fans At The Most Interesting Times…and Places

Today, I stopped by my favorite LCS, Ultimate Comics in Durham, North Carolina, to get in on a book signing and to say farewell to one of the folks signing books…Jason Strutz, who is moving to Michigan.  Jason provides the colors for a book published by Action Lab’s Danger Zone mature readers imprint, called “Ehmm Theory”, written by Brockton McKinney and penciled/inked by Larkin Ford…and all of them were on hand today.  For those who aren’t familiar with this title…look it up, this is a delightfully bizarre series and loads of fun to read.

What does this have to do with the Flash?  Hang on, I’m getting to that.

The cover for “Ehmm Theory” conveniently leaves room for additional sketching…and while I tried to think of something to request, Jason (who knows that I write for SpeedForce) interrupted with the perfect idea for a title like this…a monster version of the Flash!  That started up some Flash-related conversation, and we found that the writer of the series, Brockton McKinney, is a big Flash fan…and follower of this site!  At the end of the day I have a great cover (below – click on it and you’ll get a better pic of The Flash) and enjoyed getting to talk to indie creators who also enjoy reading about The Fastest Man Alive.  Here’s a couple of pics for you (I’m the old guy in the blue shirt)…enjoy!

Flash Girl…From the Pen of a Six Year Old!

I was visiting with family on the 4th of July and found that my great-niece Lily Johnson is turning into quite the young artist at just six years old. She came up with her own original character “Flash Girl” for her Uncle Kevin Johnson’s birthday this month…and I thought it might be fun to let other Flash fans know that there seems to be an up-and-coming generation of Flash fans here with a pretty cool hand at artwork – especially for being only six years old!

Flash, Swamp Thing and JL Dark vs Doctor Destiny! (Review of Justice League Dark #21)

jl dark 21 coverThis issue concludes a three-issue visit from The Flash and Swamp Thing to Justice League Dark, one of the more eerie and entertaining titles in the New 52.  Doctor Destiny has hijacked the House of Mystery, and using the captured Swamp Thing has the whole place completely under his control!  Can even the combined might of the Fastest Man Alive and Justice League Dark stop this menace?

SOME SPOILERS AHEAD!
