This Week: MPH, Digital Spin

This week sees the second issue of M.P.H., Mark Millar and Duncan Fegredo’s book about speedsters in Detroit.

In digital backissues, DC has started jumping around. Last week they released Flash #191, the Pied Piper spotlight. Issues #192-200, featuring “Run Riot” and “Blitz” by Geoff Johns and Scott Kolins have been available for a while. But rather than pick up with Johns & Alberto Dose’s “Ignition” in #201, they’re jumping way ahead to Flash #238, the first part of “Fast Money” by Tom Peyer and Freddie Williams II featuring the perspective-altering villain Spin.

Digital Flashbacks Speeding Up: Piper Spotlight & Hawkman

For the last year or so, DC Comics had been releasing one issue of The Flash (1987-2009 series starring Wally West) from their back catalog every two weeks. Lately, they’ve sped up, adding another issue each week to ComiXology and other digital platforms.

Since the conclusion of Crossfire just a few weeks ago, they’ve added the following:

Flash #189: A bit of a breather, as everyone catches up on where they are post-Crossfire.
Flash #190: Rogue Profile spotlight on the Pied Piper.
Flash #191: Hawkman guest-stars and Brother Grimm returns.

This Week: All-New Flash #31 and Catwoman Goes “Rogue”

Flash #31 is on sale today, picking up where Flash Annual #3 left off, with Future Flash arriving in Central City.  There is also a fantastic 1:25 Mike Allred variant cover.  Here’s the original solicit:

This Week: Forever Evil Wraps, Digital Crossfire, M.P.H.

The conclusion to Forever Evil finally arrives this week, along with the associated issues of Justice League.

Digital backissues add Flash vol.2 #188, the conclusion to “Crossfire.” Everything’s been building to this, as Wally West and his allies take on the Thinker and the Rogues for the fate of two cities!

And in other speedster news, this week sees the the first issue of Mark Millar and Duncan Fegredo’s M.P.H., a miniseries about a Detroit teenager who gains super-speed.

This Week: Digital Crossfire Continues in Flash #187 (Backlist)

Flash #187 (1987-2008 Wally West series) arrives in DC’s digital catalog at ComiXology and elsewhere:

“The Thinker has plugged himself into the Flash’s brain! Can the Fastest Man Alive out-think the Thinker and free himself? Even if he does, he’s still got Blacksmith and the Rogues to worry about! “Crossfire” part 4.”

Geoff Johns, Scott Kolins, Doug Hazlewood, with a cover by Brian Bolland.

DC has settled into posting one Flash issue every two weeks since they finished Impulse (not counting the annuals), twice the speed of the original run. Barring a speed-up or a “Flash 201” style mega-release (neither of which would surprise me if the Flash TV series gets picked up, which we should know any day now), they’re about 2 years from filling in the whole series

This Week: New Flash Creative Team in Flash #30, Rogues meet Catwoman, Digital Crossfire
