A Very Dangerous Reverse Flash Takes Center Stage In Flash #20 (review)

Flash #20 Final CoverIn The Flash #20, the all-new Reverse Flash stars in what promises to be a fantastic story arc, pitting his very different power set against The Fastest Man Alive!  Barry has his job back…in a way, and starts a new page in his personal life just in time to see the biggest danger he has yet to face in the New 52.  If you have been missing out on The Flash, this is a great time to jump back on and take a look at this excellent series.

Takin’ It To the Streets (of Boston) with Jay Garrick and Doctor Fate! (review of Earth 2 #12)

earth 2 12 coverIn Earth 2 #12, Doctor Fate is learning how to control the amazing powers granted to him by the Helm of Nabu, while Jay Garrick and Alan Scott provide cover as the battle with Wotan takes to the streets of Boston!  This is a much more powerful Wotan than Nabu himself faced so many years ago, so the outcome is certainly in doubt as we rejoin the battle as this issue begins, continuing one of the best series that DC publishes today!

A Powerless Barry Against A Prison Full of Villains! (Review of Flash #19)

Flash 19 coverThis issue of The Flash picks up on a powerless Barry Allen (as noted in last issue and in the most recent Dial H) attempting to stop a radical group from breaking the Trickster out of prison.  What can Barry do without his connection to the Speed Force?  Turns out, quite a lot!

Dial H for…Speed Force? (Review of Dial H #11)

dial h 11 coverThe title Dial H goes back for a very, very long time…all the way back to Robby Reed in the Silver Age (does the word “sockamagee” mean anything to you?).  But, this volume of Dial H has a decidedly different approach from the cute hero-for-a-moment formula, one that works very well in the New52.  In this series, there are actually several dials out there, even one for becoming a sidekick who follows the lead of their “hero”.  Up to now, the special powers granted appeared to come from somewhere outside the reality of the New52…but not anymore!

Flash March Madness – and the Winner Is…

Flash March Madness is now complete, and the winner is…

The Reverse Flash, Eobard Thawne! It was a close race with Captain Cold, but in the end Thawne won the title. Thawne first appeared in 1963, so even at 50 he can outrun the Rogues who competed against him.

We do hope you have enjoyed Flash March Madness – and that you will stick around The Fastest Forum Alive now that this great event is over. Thanks to Speedster, who designed the event, and thanks to SpeedForce for allowing us to provide the updates throughout the contest. Finally, congrats to the Reverse Flash (that’s a phrase I never thought I’d write)…and thanks to all the fans who participated in Flash March Madness!
