Review: Flashpoint: Legion of Doom #3

I have a suspicion that anyone reading this review is probably doing so for the trainwreck factor; I’ve certainly done that when the reviewer covers an infamous comic or one I disliked. Well, perhaps I’ve become jaded over the past few months, but the violence in Legion of Doom #3 wasn’t enough to make the story exciting. Continue beyond the cut for further spoilers.

Flashpoint: Legion of Doom #2 Review

Well, Flashpoint: Legion of Doom #2 was certainly something. If you like prison break stories, you’ll probably enjoy it, because it doesn’t disappoint in that respect. However if you dislike blood and violence in your comics, you won’t be thrilled with this one at all. More after the cut.

Inertia Returns in Teen Titans #99

Newsarama has the cover to Teen Titans #99, revealing that Bart Allen’s “dark twin” Inertia returns as a member of Superboy-Prime’s new Legion of Doom.

Inertia was created as a clone of Bart Allen and sent back in time to replace him (several issues of Impulse, then the “Mercury Falling” storyline). He later tricked the Rogues into killing Bart shortly after he became The Flash (“Full Throttle”), putting them through hell, and they got back at Inertia by killing him in Final Crisis: Rogues’ Revenge.

No word on whether Inertia is resurrected, brought in from an alternate reality, or a younger version brought “back” through time travel.

Preview: Flashpoint: Legion of Doom #2

DC has released a 4-page preview of next week’s Flashpoint: Legion of Doom #2, along with more detailed teaser text:

When Cyborg locked Mick Rory away in the Hall of Doom for murdering Firestorm, little did he know the risk that comes from being the target of Heatwave’s vengeance. With help from Eel, a.k.a Plastic Man, Heatwave generates an escape plan. But in order to be successful and gain back the weapons that fuel him, he must get past Atomic Skull and the Meta Gang, Animal Man, and Atom to name a few. And when his monstrous plan for revenge is ultimately revealed, Cyborg will have to worry about saving much more than just himself.

Written by Adam Glass and with art by Rodney Buchemi, Jose Marzan Jr. and Artur Fujita, FLASHPOINT: LEGION OF DOOM #2 blazes into stores next week.
