After the disappointing news that the critically-acclaimed and much loved, Young Justicewon’t be returning next season most fans who owned a console were at least happy that they could count on a decent game coming up in a couple of months to ease the pain. Put that thought out of your mind. Young Justice: Legacy has been pushed back yet again to September 2013!
So yesterday afternoon Cartoon Network released their 2013-2014 Fall schedule with two very noticeable omissions: Green Lantern: The Animated Series and Young Justice, currently the only place where Flash Family fans can get even a semblance of satisfaction. The series appear to have been replaced by a revived version of the old Teen Titans cartoon entitled Teen Titans Go! (after the comic adaptation) and the latest Batman animated venture, Beware The Batman. Continue reading →
The results are in, and Speed Force readers’ favorite Flash story of 2012 was….
Young Justice: Bloodlines! This episode of the animated TV series featured for the first time ever four generations of Flashes in the same episode: Jay Garrick and Barry Allen as the Flash, Wally West as Kid Flash, and Bart Allen as Impulse.
The top comic book story was Flash #0, retelling the origin of Barry Allen.
Here are the full results of the poll.
Young Justice: Bloodlines
Flash #0 (Origin)
Young Justice: Coldhearted
Flash Annual (Rogues)
Earth 2 #2 (Jay Garrick’s Origin)
Flash #6-7 (Captain Cold)
Flash #13-14 (Gorilla Warfare)
Flash #10 (Weather Wizard)
Flash #12 (Glider)
Flash #11 (Heat Wave)
Flash #9 (Gorilla Grodd)
Flash #8 (Turbine)
The “Other” choices were interesting, including two write-in votes for DC Universe Presents #12 (Kid Flash), which I literally thought of adding about 30 seconds after the poll went live, and several expressing dissatisfaction with the current book.
The one where Wally West was re-introduced in the New 52, exactly the same way as he appeared pre-Flashpoint.
They all made me sad and unhappy.
Comixology reprints Flash 48-50 Wally west stops Vandal Savage and gets “the Shiny Suit” that he would wear icionically until Flash #107
Absolutely Nothing; No Wally West Flash means no favorite story of 2012.
Didn’t like any of it.
It’s much more varied than last year’s poll, though since 2011 was dominated by Flashpoint and the launch of the New 52, that’s understandable.
Just a quick reminder (that I wanted to get up a lot earlier) Young Justice, featuring Kid Flash (Wally West) and Impulse (Bart Allen) as cast members will be returning from it’s mid-season hiatus tomorrow morning. The show has been on hiatus since June so many fans (like the team here at Speed Force) have been anxiously awaiting it’s return. Especially since this seems to be the only place that Wally West (and the Flash family) is getting any kind of love these days.
The screenshot depicts Kid Flash facing down perennial Batman villain, Bane on the island of Santa Prisca, a fictional locale from the animated series. It is unclear what console this screenshot is from but I’m hoping that it is either from the Wii or just a really early build. I am by no means someone easily swayed by pretty graphics (a lot of my favorite games are 2D and from the 16 bit era or below) but I’ve just come to expect more in 2012; Especially when games routinely start out at 60 bucks a pop! This looks like something more akin to the Playstation 2 than a Playstation 3 or xbox 360. I can only hope that playing as Kid Flash will be as awesome as I think it will be.
Little Orbit has released 3 other screenshots throughout the month of May featuring various other members of the team that can be found at the Young Justice: Legacy Facebook page.
The game itself is due to be released in February of 2013 for the Playstation 3, Xbox 360, Wii and DS.
What do you all think of the newest screenshot? Must buy, stay away, or too early to tell? Please let us know in the comments below.
As it turns out there’s another speedster appearing!
Yes, the rumors were true: Bart Allen is appearing in the episode as Impulse!
@SuperheroShows was kind enough to point me to Worlds Finest Online, where they have six still images plus a 50-second preview clip. Update: Chrome is blocking that link as unsafe. Here’s a copy at Superman Homepage. (How does one get on the mailing list for these preview releases?)
Here’s how the episode is described:
An intruder mysteriously appears inside Mount Justice, claiming to be a tourist from the future. But who is he really? And what is his true agenda?
Young Justice “Bloodlines” airs Saturday June 2 at 10:30 am Eastern/Pacific Time on Cartoon Network.
Jay, Barry, Wally and Bart.
Not only that, but Bart as Impulse, written by Peter David, who wrote the entire run of the original Young Justice series.
