Flash TV/Movie Rumor Update: Script Review, Audition Tape

Superhero Movie News has what purports to be a detailed-spoiler-filled review of the leaked Flash movie script by Michael Green & Marc Guggenheim, based on a story by Guggenheim, Green and Greg Berlanti. It’s interesting, particularly where reviewer Michael J. Petty compares it to the Green Lantern movie script by the same team…and to elements that have already worked their way into Arrow.

Speaking of the Arrowverse, a video surfaced briefly, claiming to be an audition tape for the role of Iris West in the Flash TV show pilot before it was taken down.

MTV analyses the video and the script review in extensive detail. (TBH, I’ve only skimmed it myself so far.) You’ll want to read the whole article at MTV, but beware…there are SPOILERS galore (for a movie that may or may not ever be made in that form).

Two things to consider:

  • Movie scripts go through many revisions before being produced, and the Flash film has been scrapped and restarted a number of times since it was announced nine years ago.
  • Auditions sometimes use early drafts and sometimes use scripts that are specific to the audition, and not intended to be filmed for the final product.

Even More Art from that Canceled Flash Video Game

Flash Game Speedster Designs - Roger Robinson

About five years ago, BottleRocket Entertainment was working on a Flash video game for Brash Entertainment. Several months in, Brash folded, and the project was canceled. We’ve previously posted about early screen art, concept art, a video clip and a commentary in our Flash video games guest post series.

Yesterday, nailbiter111 on ComicBookMovie posted an extensive gallery of concept art by Roger Robinson from his Facebook album, as well as a collection of test animations.

The art has apparently been out on Facebook for a year, but there are a lot of designs in there that I hadn’t seen before. I especially like this drawing of the Shade.

The Shade - Roger Robinson

The sheer scope of characters included is astonishing, and if nothing else, the game would have looked awesome.

Take a look at the gallery, either on ComicBookMovie or Facebook, and tell us what you think!

Arrow Season 2 Episode 9 “Three Ghosts” Notes and Reactions (Devin) ***SPOILERS***

arr1111

So Arrow ended about 5 minutes ago and “wow”. Grant Gustin is definitely growing on me as Barry Allen and the show is amping up the tension with this Mid-Season Finale. Definitely ended on a very interesting and high note.

Luckily in this second part of the introduction of Barry Allen they managed to tone down the more heavy-handed elements of his character. Barry is still noticeably fanboyish and geeky but he has thankfully stopped mentioning it so much. Definitely still getting a bit of a Peter Parker vibe especially with his science geek mentality and inventiveness. Now I’m not saying that this isn’t a core element of Barry’s character either but coupled with the brown hair he really invites the comparison.

Still excellent episode and a show that has yet to disappoint me. Beyond this point be SPOILERS, so tread lightly.
